About Us

Innate Traditions   |   Rachelle Seliga    |     Media

‘Innate’ is that which is natural and inherent. ‘Traditions’ are those teachings that are passed down from one generation to the next. Nature's design offers us a map to health and wellness. We thrive when we follow that which has been laid out for us. Traditional medicinal knowledge is stored within our blood and bone memory, within the Earth, Air, Water, Fire and Stars. The more we heal ourselves from the destructive programming we have received, the more access we have to this knowledge.

About Innate Traditions:

Innate Traditions exists to midwife a cultural shift- where innate wisdom, personal authority and the sanctity of LIfe are centered and honored. We work with people across disciplines and geographies to: unlearn destructive belief systems that disconnect humanity from each other and from Life; re-member humanity’s original blueprint; and positively impact the respective communities to which we belong.

Our primary commitment is to maternal health and the revival of true postpartum care.

Women are the heart, the foundation of the people. Supporting Mothers supports healthy and empowered families, which supports thriving communities, which supports all of humanity.

Postpartum care is one of the most effective ways to care for future generations, because children’s health is contingent upon Maternal health. Our signature training- INNATE Postpartum Care - Certification Training has been attended by birth and healthcare providers from 35 states and over 20 countries.

We welcome you to join our community conversation dedicated to thriving life principles.

About Rachelle Seliga: Mother, Midwife, Educator, and Cultural Visionary

Rachelle Seliga is dedicated to midwifing a cultural shift through her teachings, trainings, and hands-on experiences. Her journey began with an eight-year traditional midwifery apprenticeship across the United States and Mexico, which culminated in her certification as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM), in 2010.

In addition to her midwifery foundation, Rachelle trained extensively in complementary healing modalities. Rachelle's personal journey was profoundly shaped at the age of 23, when she was adopted by traditional medicine people Kaucas Durant Littlefish of the Ojibwe Nation and Donna Maria Camps of Carib Nation. These mentors taught Rachelle about the holistic healing arts and inspired her to take full responsibility for her life—a gift she now pays forward through all of her outer-world work. Rachelle also studied Holistic Pelvic Care with Tami Lynn Kent, uterine massage with the Arvigo Institute, and traditional breast care under the guidance of esteemed mentors. All of these practices informed her Holistic Well-Woman Care Practice, where she supported women through transformative, in-person care for several years.

Rachelle embodies the original meaning of the word “midwife”—a caretaker of health and life, from “womb to tomb.” Rachelle lives and works from the understanding that our physiologic design IS our divine design, which IS our "blueprint," which ARE our original instructions. These different ways to say the SAME thing acknowledge that there is an order, a structure, a map to LIFE that supersedes human will; it is Nature's Design. Nature's Design is Rachelle's Greatest mentor, and her work is grounded in Nature's Thriving Life Principles.

Rachelle is a woman enamored with LIFE and with a burning fire to live into potential. She is currently apprenticing the idea that Ram Dass shared "The world is perfect as it is, including our desire to change it.” This paradox speaks to the heart of Rachelle’s approach: surrendering to what Life asks of us, while holding the focused and directional prayer of our heart's desires. She values Aliveness, Relationships, Beauty, and Action.

Through INNATE Postpartum Care - Certification Training, Rachelle equips students with an actionable model of postpartum wellness: Physiologic Postpartum Care - to facilitate true healing and vibrant health for postpartum mothers and families worldwide. Within this training, Rachelle also offers the personal healing pathways and eldering required to support her trainees in their respective fields of practice - to midwife a cultural shift in the function of communities and culture, around the world.
